Association des Amis de la Nature-Canada
AAN Canada is a non-profit organization incorporated under the laws of Canada, certified under number: 1624461-1 since 27/08/2024.
AAN Canada currently has an office in Bujumbura, Burundi, created in 2002 and approved by Ministerial Order No. 530/11/03 of January 6, 2002, and is committed to the defence of the environment, human rights and the sustainable development of the population.
It also focuses on warning, prevention, community awareness and the production of reports on cases of human rights and environmental violations. It proposes solutions to the government of Burundi and lobbies decision-makers and partners. The organization also exchanges experience and information with institutions in similar fields.

- To inform and sensitize the international community, in general, and the Canadian people, in particular, to the dangers and consequences of underdevelopment, poverty, hunger, famine and disease that weigh heavily on the Burundian population.
- Combat these scourges by designing and developing sustainable development projects, contributing to respect for human and environmental rights, and seeking financial support from partners.
- Carry out activities to prevent, alert, raise awareness and denounce environmental destruction and human rights violations.
- Advocate and promote proposals for sustainable solutions to the Government of Burundi and other partners, with a view to improving the living conditions of the Burundian population.
- Strengthen exchanges of experience and information with international institutions working in the fields of development, the environment and human rights.
